Visiting customers, attending tradeshows, out and about, on the train, in the caravan, on a boat the use of a mobile dongle can revolutionise your internet access.
I paid £99 for a T mobile dongle and the pay £4/ day for useage on an ad hoc basis. There are various packages available for continual useage from around £10/month based on volume of data transfer. PCWorld have recently had a pay as you go dongle on offer at £49.99 so its worth shopping around
Plus points:
Excellent if there isn't a local stable connection.
Good for checking emails
Good for having quick access to view information.
Things to consider:
Generally speeds achieved are more like dial up
Slow to upload graphics heavy pages
Slow to upload/ download files
Need mobile reception to be reasonably good - choose your network carefully.
Overall - these are really coming on but I wouldn't cancel the broadband package just yet.
